Can you engrave on Metal?

Not directly, but we have a spray that we can use that hardens into a decal when shot by our laser that we can use on metal!

Can you cut glass?

We can't cut glass, but we can etch it! If you have an idea that involves a flat piece of glass, we can have it cut to size and engrave the outside without any issues!

How large is your laser engraver?

We have a 58” x 36” CO2 laser cutting engraver. 

How big are the wood boards Chinampas works with?

Most standard sized sheets of MDF board or Plywood are 2' tall by 4' wide, but for an added fee we can special order boards up to the size of our laser's bed.

What is 3D Printing?

3D printing is a form of rapid additive manufacturing where you lay layer by layer of plastic until your 3D model is built. Check out our stream at twitch.tv/ChinampasCO to see an example.

Are Chinampas Design's materials environmentally conscious?

Our plastics (unless specifically requested otherwise) are made out of PLA, which is a biodegradable corn based plastic. Our laser engraving projects use MDF and Plywoods that use UF-Resin which is made using byproducts of ammonia and methane, which are both renewable resources. We work to make sure that we are using recycled, biodegradable, or environmentally friendly materials!
